Open Forum

Instead of a regularly formatted Parish Council meeting, Fr. Joseph Ferarra was invited down from the diocese.  His purpose was to gather facts about St. Elizabeth Ann Seton to help the diocese choose our next pastor.  His questions were based on 3 topics:

  1. What are the strengths of our parish?
  2. What are the concerns of our parish?
  3. What would we like our new pastor to know about our parish?

Our discussions lasted approximately 90 minutes.  During that time, Fr. Ferarra stated that everyday more and more priests are putting in for the position of our pastor; and right now, 2 in particular are leading the pack.  Regarding the feedback that we gave him about the parish, he stated that really none of it was new news to him.  Most of the concerns that we discussed were already known.  At one point, he even joked that our standards were so high for the next pastor that maybe we were looking for Jesus to replace Fr. Bob
