Discussion of Committee/Group Reports:

Liturgical Committee- although it was not mentioned in their report, they have scheduled a ladies retreat for Saturday December 3.  It will be conducted by Sr. Jane Hill in one of the classrooms from 9:30 to 12:00

Family Life- Joanne continues to have difficulty in contacting the diocese, in particular Steve Bozza, for some sort of guidance on the direction of her ministry.  She will continue to try.

Youth Ministry- Ray wanted to make sure that Addie was aware that the Youth Group was conducting a lock in on the same day as her ladies retreat.  I also took the time to mention how elaborate the Youth Group’s minutes are every month.  Pat constantly makes a great effort of touching all bases and leaving no path unexplored.

Old Business:

  1.  Parochial Vicar/Mass Schedule- although St Elizabeth Ann Seton is one of the 2 parishes on the top of the who-gets-the-next-priest list, it appears that Fr. Carlton’s replacement will not get here until January at the earliest.  Therefore, effective Sunday December 11, the following changes will take place and remain in place even after we get a replacement.
    1. The Sunday 7am and 8:30 masses will be replaced with a new 8 am Sunday mass
    2. All morning masses will remain
    3. All evening masses (& First Friday masses) will be replaced with a prayer service
  2. Constitution/Election Update-Matt was scheduled to present a draft of the revised bylaws we voted on pursuing at the last meeting.  Unfortunately, Matt and the draft did not make the meeting.  Father Bob then questioned each member of council and made them accountable to his request last month.  Who seriously approached a parishioner and asked them if the were willing to serve on council?   Although a couple people stated that they tried, no one successfully had found a willing applicant.  Therefore, once again, EACH MEMBER of council is asked to seriously pursue an individual who they feel would make a good vice president candidate.
  3. Parish Center Renovations
    1. Window are scheduled to be installed November 15, 2005
    2. Replacing the doors would be next
    3. Office Concepts has been contacted for a price on furnishing the place.  Bill also stated that he has a connection for used office furniture
    4. Wiring, bathroom fixtures, and carpeting is also on the schedule
    5. Fr. Bob noted that maybe some work (carpeting) should also be done on the Annex at this time
  4. Mission is scheduled for the week of November 27
    1. Fr. Camacho will give an introduction to the mission at all the Saturday & Sunday masses
    2. Morning sessions (Mass) will be on Monday, Tuesday, & Wednesday at 9am
    3. Evening sessions will be at 7pm on Monday, Tuesday, & Wednesday

 New Business:

The Assumption Regional School (ARS) project is in motion and at some point in the near future, we are going to be hit with the financial realities of partially funding this project.  Therefore, in order to sell this up and coming capital campaign, it was decided that an effort should be made to educate our parishioners that ASR is our school and that we are financially responsible for it.   We felt the best way to accomplish this would be to insert weekly news articles into our bulletin regarding ARS.  Hopefully, our parishioners would eventually associate these articles with the fact that this is our school.  We are concerned about what is going on there and we are very much involved with it.  Six months later, when they are asked to finance a capital campaign; hopefully, it will feel a bit more like they are supporting their school, and not simply paying some other parish’s bills.
