Prior to our meeting,

I collected the reports and distributed them to everyone on council one
week prior to our meeting.

station donated & installed in women’s restroom

| Sign
on the White Horse Pike was completed by Dennis Mulligan.
Feedback has been positive.

Parish
Center
would probably be started in October

sure it is handicap assessable is being double checked
|
| Some
of Parish Council expressed regrets that they were not more informed of
the specific details of the new
Parish
Center
|
| In
hindsight, the Parish Council probably should have been made aware of the
decisions and specific details that went in to the planning of the center.
Many of us are now being asked why certain things were done.
As members of the Parish Council, we should be able to answer those
questions, but unfortunately we can not.

Publicity & Community Events Committee
Children’s Religious Education
| 85%
of the teachers attended a Child Assault Program
|
| 72
teachers and aids have volunteered for the upcoming year
|
Parish Outreach
Committee
| Last
meeting was in June
|
| They
had 5 individuals show up for their Catholics Returning Home program
|
| Currently
3 have continued to take advantage of this program with teachings in
Prayers & Scriptures
|
Family Life
| Pre
Cana scheduled for October 17 & 24
|
| So
far 4 couples (maybe 5) have signed up
|
| The
number of lead couples are waning fast
They hope to have a
meeting to regroup before the next Pre Cana
|
| Ideas
were discussed on how to attract more lead couples
|
Liturgical Committee
| Looking
for new members
|
Social Action Committee
Vocations Committee
| Nothing

| Fr.
Bob sent in a donation ($500) to help support a seminarian, Kevin M.
Kevin thanked us for our support.

Youth Ministry
| There
was a Labor Day meeting
|
| 8
of the adult volunteers were fingerprinted
|
| Yesterday
they attended a beach mass
|
| Next
weekend will be the first meeting for the Juniors, then Seniors will meet
the following week |
Old
Business:
- Parish
Mission
- Fr.
McCarthy is healthy, he is coming, and he is looking forward to it
- There
will be a mass on Monday, Tuesday, & Wednesday.
Ted was asked to make sure Lectors, Eucharistic Ministers, etc.
were scheduled for the occasion.

will be handing the music
- Maryann
& Blair will be handling the decorations
- Wednesday
will have a special segment reaching out to the Youth Groups
- Parish
Council Photo Board
- Blair
said it will be up by Christmas (2004)
New
Business:
- Absecon
Downtown Fair
- Faithful
Citizenship/Evening of Legislative Dialogue (Nov 9)

Parish
Center
- At
some point, Fr. would like to raise some funds for the project, which will
probably be around $200,000. Possibly
another collection?
- Respect
Life
- Fr.
Carlton will be leading the Life Chain
- Respect
for life Liturature will be placed on the pamphlet rack
- The
topic will be discussed in all CCD classes and included in the Offertory
Prayer
Open
Forum
| This
year’s Christmas bazaar is scheduled for
November 6, 2004
|
| Next
year’s chicken barbeque is scheduled for
July 24, 2005
. It
was further noted that holding the event in the hall again would be the best
setting.
|
| There
will be a meeting for the
area’s Youth Ministries held in our parish
|
| The
Knights of Columbus will be petitioning parishioners on October 9 & 10
to sign a petition on school vouchers.
|
| Fr.
Bob, Ted, & Kevin rejected a telemarketers proposal to contact
parishioners that have not recently contributed to the House of Charity
campaign.
|
| Carol
mentioned what a great experience a parish Baptism workshop was that she
recently attended.
