 Old Business:

  1. Parish Mission .  It is still hoped that this event can be rescheduled, but at this time, no further information was available.
  2. Appreciation Diner is scheduled for Saturday January 31st
  3. Ted Karmilovich and Kevin Walls will be chairing this year’s House of Charity.  The campaign will kick off on January 7th and the parish’s goal this year has been raised to $87,000.  On the weekend of February 21-22 a video will be shown at all masses explaining the program and on the weekend of February 28-29, solicitations will be placed in the pews.

 New Business:

  1. Election Process.  On the one hand it was felt that the bylaws were well conceived and should be strictly followed.  Whereas on the other hand, now that the council has had  two years of experience,  maybe election procedures contrary to the bylaws make more sense in today’s light.   So it was decided (to the best of my recollection) that :
    1. By a unanimous vote (with several abstaining), that we should stagger the election of our officers.   Each officer will serve a 3 year term and only one officer will be replaced each year
    2. The parish will attempt to solicit candidates (via the bulletin or other means) for the vacant position.
    3. These names (and possibly others) will then be handed to a nomination committee
    4. The nomination committee will then interview the candidates and present the parish with a bio of each candidate and a ballot.
    5. Voting will then take place in some form at church and by those attending mass.
    6. Our first election will take place this May
    7. We will initiate rewriting the bylaws and are aware of the fact that it would be impossible to have them formally approved before this May’s election.
  2. Fr. Bob asked for suggestions on what may be a successful parish fund raiser.
  3. Catholic Weight Control Program:  Rita was asked to review a tape and to comment at the next meeting its merits.
  4. Mary Ann Learn will be taking on the responsibilities of the hospitality committee.  Many of the committee also mentioned what a great job Mary Ann did last weekend for her efforts in celebrating the Feast of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton.
  5. Cyrenean Club is in need of additional support.  It’s only a dollar a week for the rest of your life.
